Happy holidays to all. Need a little help and I'll try to be succinct.
I recently picked up a used Android netbook. Label calls it a Midbook Zoedpad. It has an 8850 processor, running Android 4.0. It had a faulty camera and wifi, which I don't care about. Otherwise, works well.
I've successfully found a compatible Android firmware flash at http://www.agptek.com/download/TP12A_Via8850_CMBT_V3000.zip
This is the firmware for Agptek's TP12A 10" tablet with a screen resolution of 1024x600.
What I would like to do is to be able to flash UberCE7 to this device. However, after downloading the file and copying the firmware to the SD card, after inserting it and restarting the netbook, it doesn't seem to do anything at all. It just continues to load the existing OS.
I suspect there is some difference between the firmware flashes for the 8650 (UberCE7) and the 8850 (my machine).
So is it possible to to somehow modify the TP12A firmware from Agptek to accept the UberCE7 firmware?
Any ideas, suggestions...or am I just farting in the wind?
I've been a Windows CE fan for years and have a ton of software for CE, and understand it inside and out...hence my reluctance to learn another OS (Android) as I only have a few years left to live...being the old fart I am.
Thanks for any replies...Rich Hawley,
