hi i m using uberoid 12.1. is ce7 better? battery life and performance wise?
other are ok with uberoid battery life is less, touch sensitivity and volume
Hey indra729,

chances are that there is no touch screen at all on this rom, battery life could be better, performance not, plus you can't use so many apps as you can using Uberoid v12.1 on it.

Dear HCH,

Do you have any extra USB Dongle which contains USB ports and LAN Port? I need one as I am not given any at the time of purchase.

Regards.

Hello I tried all options 1-5 and Autorun does not start to install ... black screen is what will be ... I'm doing wrong ... someone could help me. :erm:

Follow the installation procedure to format my SD and then choose one of the options and arrange for SD .. then turn the tablet on the tablet and put sd connect ...
but the screen is black and does nothing. :android-question:

Great Job with this!

I am having an issue with the Wi-Fi.  I click the Wi-Fi icon on the desktop and then I click Turn On.  It does not appear to locate any Wireless network.  Am I missing something?

Thanks a bunch!

Hey mrfrustrated,

So if you use that desktop icon for the wifi it doesn't actually turn it on?

Does another way of turning on the wifi work?

Are there more than 1 wireless networks around in case that just 1 isn't picked up for whatever reason at that moment ? :P I had this myself once hehehe.

If not, I am afraid your wifi chip isn't supported by the kernel :(

Hello HCH,

You have some great things going on here!  Thank you again.

My Wifi is operational.  When I click the Wi-Fi Power and the click Turn On, nothing appears or happens.  I guess my tablet sucks because the touch screen does not work either.  To get the internet I have to directly plug into the dongle.

Thank you for your help!

HCH,

Hey! I've been running Uberoid on my m806blu (some generic chinese tablet) since the day I bought this thing off ebay. It has been a great little project and your Roms have kept it a lot more functional than it was initially (not even a signed Play Store so basically no apps).   Anyway... Thought I'd give this a go since I haven't messed with my tablet for a while and wouldn't you know... Full TS, Full Wifi, Sound, everything is super functional.   Loses wifi occasionally but not a big deal.  very quick in nav and opening windows. Lags some, but thats my hardware. (my daily rider is a nexus 4 so I try not to compare the too much lol)    Overall though man this thing is amazing and I just wanted to say thanks for something new! Flashing Android roms is fun, but it was refreshing to see something like this and it works waaay better than I had expected when I started downloading it.  Thanks!

I tried booting my tablet using this new version, but i cannot see anything in the screen....

Any idea why?

Is there any other software i need to unbrick my tablet?

Further if i leave the tablet ON for 5 minutes, then u will hear the windows boot sound but nothing in the screen.

Thank you and looking forward to your help.

Joe

Hey zornfeld,

I'm sorry to bring you bad news, I don't think we can get your wifi working on this rom. This kernel doesn't support all wifi/sound/ts like the android rom does :(

You can try setting some different values in the scriptcmd (remember to recompile the scriptcmd! if you need a tool for that I'll look one of up for you)

Hey Zornfeld,

No problem! Here you go:

http://dfiles.eu/files/5xkgb82sl

you need to remove the header first of the original file (all the "crap" in front of the actual commands) then you can run this tool to recompile it from txt to useable file!

Cheers,

HcH

Hey zornfeld,

Sorry! That one seems to be down, I have reuploaded to TechKnow's \ Download \ WM8650 section as "WM8505_WM8650_WM8710_WM8850_SCRIPTCMD_MAKER", you can find the downloads in the top navigation bar.

Good luck,

New here. I have the sylvania 7 inch wm8650 netbook with 512mb ram (synet07wicv). The one thing that has plagued me was looking for a windows ce image that will have full support of the ram inside of the laptop, and not just 256mb. Windows ce runs too slowly with 256mb limitation, it will run faster with twice the ram allowable which my laptop actually has.

Anyway to use more than just 256mb ram with this firmware?

EDIT: Finally got to installing this last night. I used changer.bat with option one. Works about as good if not better than the infamous wince6 for wm8650. This alpha release i find quite stable with some obvious new features that wince6 doesn't have. Other than that, there was one wierd thing, uberce7 was reporting 384mb of ram. I don't know why. This firmware like many others is for 256mb of ram. Either way, being able to use more than 256mb out of the 512mb made software run much faster.

Can a 512mb option added to changer.bat? Windows embedded doesn't have to be sluggish for those few who have greater than 256mb.

Great work :-D

Happy holidays to all.  Need a little help and I'll try to be succinct.

I recently picked up a used Android netbook.  Label calls it a  Midbook Zoedpad.  It has an 8850 processor, running Android 4.0.  It had a faulty camera and wifi, which I don't care about.  Otherwise, works well.

I've successfully found a compatible Android firmware flash at http://www.agptek.com/download/TP12A_Via8850_CMBT_V3000.zip   This is the firmware for Agptek's TP12A 10" tablet with a screen resolution of 1024x600.

What I would like to do is to be able to flash UberCE7 to this device.  However, after downloading the file and copying the firmware to the SD card, after inserting it and restarting the netbook, it doesn't seem to do anything at all.  It just continues to load the existing OS.

I suspect there is some difference between the firmware flashes for the 8650 (UberCE7) and the 8850 (my machine).

So is it possible to to somehow modify the TP12A firmware from Agptek to accept the UberCE7 firmware?

Any ideas, suggestions...or am I just farting in the wind?

I've been a Windows CE fan for years and have a ton of software for CE, and understand it inside and out...hence my reluctance to learn another OS (Android) as I only have a few years left to live...being the old fart I am.

Thanks for any replies...Rich Hawley,

Satcomranger...thanks for the reply.  Wasn't aware of the major difference between the CPU models.  Figured that an ARM compatible processor would handle any old CE build.  Guess for now I'm just out of luck and will hopefully one day obtain an Embedded Compact 7 build for the 8850.

Thanks again...and 10-4 on the email/link posting guidelines...

WinCE 7 is the best thing since sliced bread for my resistive tablet.  The screen has been broken since 6mo after purchase.  The underpowered hardware that should have never left a WinCE environment has been returned to the wild!  I posted on an old thread, wicknix had a compiled archive of CE apps in a zip file.  If you see this, would you mind reposting it?  Thanks!

My kids take this with them in the car and watch MPEG2 video and songs using WMPlayer.  Works great!
