I did it, I made an image that actually works! Boots back to the original factory dump that I did of the Tablet, before going through this fiasco!!!!
The steps that probably both you and me missed, was the fact, that with bootloader.img, we need to mount that in Ubuntu, and copy the files from it, to the a10_flash_kitchen/packer_ics/_bootfs. What's basically happening right now, with following the method listed on the Miniand Tech website, without the copying of bootloader.img files over to _bootfs, is that there's a Empty Bootloader. Once I copied over the files, and ran create_image.bat, and flashed it, it booted just perfectly! WOOT!
The Additional prompts to add, just before create_image.bat:
Copy bootloader.img to your rom folder that your working in.
In terminal, type:
sudo mount -o loop bootloader.img _bootfs
cp -R * <path to a10_flash_kitchen mount>/packer_ics/_bootfs
sudo umount _bootfs
Then run create_image.bat, and your all set!
Try it out, and let me know.
*dances a little jig*
