HowTo Flash a10 using LiveSuite
« on: October 27, 2012, 03:18:53 PM »
1. Requirements:
(1) Windows PC
(2) USB Cable
(3) Upgrade tool (LiveSuit.exe)
(4) Firmware image file
(5) Windows USB drivers

2.Upgrade Steps:
(1) Unzip the upgrade tool and USB drive to your hard driver
Double-click the LiveSuitPack10x_english.exe file, it will automatically install the driver files. Click "OK" to complete the driver installation.

(2) Open LiveSuit.exe
Double-click to open the upgrade tool LiveSuit.exe

(3) Select the firmware
Click the "SelectImg" button (the first button from the left) to select the firmware .img file.

(4) Turn off your tablet

(5) Press the key combination to start it in the upgrade mode
    a. Press the "Vol -" key, then press the "Power" button, hold two buttons at the same time
    b. Connect the USB cable to tablet and computer
    c. After connecting the USB cable, press the power button 6 times quickly or hold the "Vol -" keys and the "Power" button for more than 6 seconds (you should get a pop up window if done correctly , if not repeat step 5 from beginning)
    d. DON'T release the "Vol -" button till the LiveSuit window pops up
    e. You can now release the "Vol -" button
(Note: If you install the driver at this time the pop-up dialog box, the path to point to installation directory UsbDriver LiveSuit folder, click Next to complete the driver installation prompts).
You should see LiveSuit window pops up; otherwise, you didn't do it correctly, you have to repeat step 4 and 5.

(6) Select the format to force upgrade
Livesuit prompt "force format", click "Yes" (Y). All of the original apps installed will be removed. We highly recommend mandatory format! ! ! Otherwise the update is not complete and may brick! ! !

(7) Upgrade begins
Pop-up "OK to force format" dialog box, select "Yes", the upgrade begins.

(8) The upgrade is complete
Firmware download process last about three and a half minutes or so, please wait until the prompt "upgrade successful."

(9) Automatic restart
After the upgrade is complete, your tablet will automatically restart, then you can unplug the USB cable.
Slow start-up for the first time, please be patient.
If the machine does not restart automatically, press and hold the Power button for 8-10 seconds or more to ensure the power switch off, then press the Power button 3 seconds or more to turn on your tablet.

(10) Congratulations! You have flashed the firmware.

thanks to HcH for this tutorial  8-)  ;)  8-)

My tablet is stuck on the boot sequence where the android robot shows up.
I've read some articles that flashing my will solve my problem that's why I subscribe to this thread.
I've tried the method, but I'm having difficulties in step #5. When i do the key combination, it does not start the upgrade mode. Livesuit does nothing, and the tablet just shows the android robot where, again, is stuck and does not push through.

Any comments is pretty much appreciated. thanks.

Hey watchme.blaze,

just a few hints:

1. Try to drain the battery
2. Search a reset pinhole, press and hold it more than 5sec
3. Check that your system detects the tablet, see device manager in windows (there should be no yellow exclamation mark in front of it)

Hope it helps :)

My device model says: mid-008a. Can anyone confirm if this thread applies to me anyway?

Problem Solved: Could not go through step 5, my tablet is not being recognized by livesuite.

Solution: I tried using livesuite version 1.07 and it worked. I was using version 1.09 when i failed.

livesuite 1.07: http://www.mediafire.com/?x4541qwu4j1d34p.

PS: My tablet was bricked, stuck at the android robot logo. This thread helped me fix it.

Hi

That's my tablet: http://dx.com/p/tm8011-android-2-3-tablet-mid-w-8-capacitive-wi-fi-mini-hdmi-and-mini-usb-1-5ghz-8gb-115325

I have the same problem...My tablet is stuck on the boot sequence where the android letters show up.

And my computer doesn't recognize the device in windows 7, so i cant use Livesuite.  :android-cry:

Things that i tried:

Drain the battery
Press the reset button, doesnt work
cant enter recovery mode, tried all combinations

Any suggestion? Thanks.

I believe I have a Tursion 7" Capacitive A10 Tablet PC 4.0 Android.  Is this the right section for me to be in?  First timer here and having issues with this tablet.  I just dont want to brick this thing also .  LOL!

Hey trycyber ,

well not really, you reply to a FAQ while you should have read the "First time visitor" post on the mainpage where you would have read that the General Discussion is the discussion part of the forum for problems and questions.

Thank you so much for this thread. I struggled 2 days to save my tablet after i accidentally flashed wrong cwm recovery which caused a recovery-loop. Was kinda hard to boot up correctly according the instructions, since i only have power-key. (no vol-keys) :)

So now i can confirm that FaastJB also works with this "http://dx.com/p/ipum7053av-7-led-android-4-0-car-gps-navigator-w-av-in-black-8gb-memory-european-map-208009" "nameless navi-tablet.

Now i just need to find correct drivers for touchscreen.

Thanks again!  :android-inlove:
